Unveil my eyes

I really need to start writing on here more often. There's a sort of liberation that comes with writing and digging deeper into who you are...and finding things out about yourself as you do so.

I think God has played a bigger hand in my life recently than I've realized, and definitely more than I've given him credit for. There are so many things that happen everyday that seem coincidental or seem to have no purpose at the time, but looking back, it's like the veil in front of my eyes is gone. God is so good at being conspicuous. Sometimes for me though, I need God to be so blunt. And he can be, depending on what he wants me to see.  And sometimes when He is, I still don't get it.  What can I say? All I know is that God's got his work cut out for him when it comes to me.  :)

It's so nice to almost be done with school for the semester. I almost can't believe it- I will be done being a student in one year! I only have 2 semesters left to go....where did all the time go? What happened that made college fly by so fast?  And, since school has only 3 weeks left, that means my summer starts in approximately....3 weeks and 1 day. I CAN NOT WAIT.  How wonderful it will be to lay in the sun all day, spend time with friends and not having to worry about classes or homework, relaxing and detoxifying my life. I just have to make it through the rest of my classes and i'm home free.

So long the days of my youth..

I was just looking at a friend's xanga account and then I thought, "Wait a second, I think I used to have one of those." And so I checked, and it is true. So as you can tell (you, referring to whatever audience i have, if any), it's been a while.
I just read the last entry I posted with the 101 things about me....sometime in the future I will have to repost that with the corrections of who I am NOW and what has changed in the past 2 years. SO MUCH has changed...
Well today was the first day back to class after Christmas break. I was dreading today because of how many classes I was supposed to have, but luckily, two of my classes were cancelled (one of them was supposed to be 3 hours long!), which made today a day that I could handle. And days that I can handle seem to be far and few between....lets just say i've been struggling with some things lately.
So a quick update to fill in the gap of the last 2 years:

-I got married this past summer to my love, Michael Mathsen
-I am still working towards an elementary education degree, but this time I actually want to be a teacher. It has become a passion.
-I have a puppy (given to me by Mike last Christmas) named Leroy. He is my best friend and worst enemy,sometimes all in the same day.
-I was working with the middle schoolers at my church, but this year I am trying out the nursery and also hoping to get to teach Sunday school.
-I love Jesus more than anything in the world, yet I am full of sin and procrastination, so sometimes He is not my top priority. I strive for Him to be, yet I often fail. Thank goodness my sins are forgiven.
-I am hoping to be a nanny in the cities this summer while Mike is doing an internship.
-I love my friends and family (and new family) more than they know.
-I am no longer in the UND marching band unfortunately. I had a bad experience last year and chose not to join this year, but I have regretted it. I would like to join next year if time allows...
-I hate the cold that comes with living in North Dakota. I am very ready to move somewhere warm. When? Only God knows the answer to that, but we are hoping to move this coming December after Mike graduates.

Well, that's my life today in a nutshell. I know there's more that I would like to share, but that will be for another day.

"Good morning beautiful, how was your night? Mine was wonderful with you by my side.."

so its been a while since i've written on here. I had a good Thanksgiving-went home and hung out with my family and some friends for a couple days. the way home was kind of crazy tho..I got stuck in fargo for the night on sunday and finally made it home by 3 on monday..good times though. Had a good conversation with alex my carpooling buddy on the way home.

well i'm pretty excited that we only have 2 more weeks and then finals week before christmas break! I'm excited to just hang out and have nothing to do and no deadlines to meet for a while. Not really all that excited about going home again, i think i just get bored at home now, but it will be cool to hang out with friends and just chill for a while. i dont even have to work..that part kind of sucks cuz the only day i'm scheduled to work the whole vacation is christmas day...ugh...but its all good cuz i'll get to see my grandparents and maybe stay a little longer in GF before going home. we'll see..

umm what else...as far as things with anthony go, we're still just friends but for now i think it's better that way. we had a pretty serious talk last night and it made me, well probably both of us, think about a lot of things.

i think besides that my life is pretty boring. Oh...the jazz band i play in for church is going on an 8 day tour in germany next july...i'm so excited i hope i can go...!!
